#FaceFlawlessFacial: The Tools We Love for At-home Facials
Hey, Beautiful! (Yeah, that’s you. ) I’m not going to say, “I hope you are safe and well,” I’m instead asking how is your skin, for real, for real? If it’s not great, we can provide you with guidance on how to get it better, and if we can’t, we most certainly can refer you to a professional. Our weekly #FaceFlawlessFacial is about inspiring you and equipping with info, tools, and tips to take great care of your skin. We want you to return OUTSIDE with the best skin you have ever had! For this week’s facial, Felicia and I are highlighting some of the tools we use during our at-home facials.

I started with the Marla Rene Honey Cleanser on dry skin. I wasn’t wearing any makeup so this cleanser was perfect. I really like the consistency — It really feels like I’m smearing honey on my face and for some reason, the thought of playing in honey brings me joy.
I followed with my favorite facial step, steaming. I had a couple of pimples and some congestion around my nose (and from my sinuses) so this is perfect to loosen both. During the live #FaceFlawlessFacial, someone asked if I ever put essential oils in my steamer. The answer is no. For these types of steamers, I follow the manufacturer’s directions. However, when I steam over a bowl, I’ll add some essential oils. Right now the Jasmine Green Tea Facial Steam is in my cart on Luxuriouswellniss.com, I’m using our 15% discount code LWXFFS before it expires. I usually steam for about 10 minutes.
Next up is the Skin Scrubber to gentle extract superficial pimples. Rather than using a toner, I wet my face with water throughout because I wanted to keep my skin product free for the next step (dermaplaning). Skin Scrubbers are generally regarded as safe for just about anyone to use. Be sure to keep face damp and apply gentle pressure for the best results.
After gently extracting with the skin scrubber, I thoroughly dried my face and reached for my Dermaflash Dermaplaning tool. Dermaplaning smooths out your face — it’s just a fancy “shave” of your face. It removes peach fuzz and the outermost layer of dead skin. Skin is instantly smoother. With this and all devices, it’s important to follow the directions. Some people skip the reading step and only return to it once something is not working as they expected (don’t be some people). These Schick Blades will get you a similar result as the Dermaflash but you have to be extremely careful using them.
To boost my glow and further smooth the surface of my skin I use the Eve Milan Superfruit Enzyme Pads. These presoaked pads “use enzymatic exfoliation derived from pineapple and kiwi to digest dead skin cells to keep skin youthful and bright.” The pads are safe to use once or twice per week. And with continued use, they help to brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of pores. When using acids and enzymes, I like to give them time to work so I generally let them sit on my face for 20-30 minutes before applying a nourishing serum and/or cream. Be sure to follow with a sunscreen if you are heading outside.
The Mario Badescu Super Peptide Serum was my next application. It contains peptides believed to restore skin and reduce skin sensitization. It has a very lightweight feel and vanishes into my skin. This is also a good serum to apply after microneedling.
This is the newest product in my skincare rotation and something I had no idea I needed until I started researching the effects of blue light on the skin (and eyes). Haoma Preservation Day Cream with CBD & Turmeric moisturizes my skin and promotes cell growth. It also contains Malachite, an ingredient rich in Manganese, Copper, Selenium, and Zinc that protects against blue digital light and air pollution.

This week my at-home facial is focused on resurfacing.
First, start with Pai Lightwork Cleansing Oil to break down makeup, sunscreen, debris, etc.
Next, I complete my double cleanse with Very Pretty Skin Glycolic Resurfacing Milk to loosen dead skin cells. I like to move in circular motions for up to 3 minutes to truly to give the glycolic acid time to go to work. The next step is to balance the skin with a toner. Lately, I've been reaching for Thayers. This version is alcohol-free, contains aloe, and has a light fresh cucumber scent.
The main event for this at-home facial is my Silkn Revit Microdermabrasion Device. Let me tell you, this tool is CLUTCH. It is both gentle and effective at exfoliating the skin, using light vacuum stimulation. I've been using the OG version of the device for a while and it works beautifully. But, there is an updated digital model with newer features, if you're feeling fancy and want to upgrade your investment. The whole idea of this type of exfoliation is to go deeper to purge pores, remove dead skin cells, reduce the appearance of blemishes and surface imperfections. The overall result is clearer, more even-toned skin. This device offers close-to-professional-level treatment at home.
I love to soothe my skin post-microdermabrasion with a super juicy sheet mask like Lapcos Escagot Damage Care.
Depending on time, do a sheet mask or fast track to a nourishing serum + moisturizer. Hyaluronic acid is a good serum choice. I like Tuel Hydrate Super Moisture Serum.
My constant eye cream for the last couple of months has been Sulwhasoo Bloomstay Vitalizing Eye Cream (If sold out, because it's popular, here's a wonderful alternative). The metal-tipped massage tool is like heaven.
Lately, I cannot live without Bee's Moon Night Healer Botanical Emollient. Every time I apply it I'm always like: "Where have you been all my life?" Totally organic, this Vitamin A, E, C, and F rich balm is comprised of responsibly sourced fruit, seeds, flowers, and trees. I have struggled with skin bacteria/ fungi for years. Bee's Moon Night Healer helps to regulate this kind of skin disruption by creating an environment that reduces inflammation and prevents bacteria from thriving. And if I have extra time, I get my circulation going with Pause Well Aging Fascia Tool (Code: PausewithFelicia to save 20%) or my Angela Caglia Rose Quartz Facial Roller. I'm also a huge Gua Sha fan, and this is my go-to.
